On September 1, 1871 Frank was born to Thomas and Jane (nee Monk) Bedulph at East Bay Neck, via Hobart, Tasmania and his birth was registered at Point Sorrel, Tas.  Siblings that followed were Samuel (1872), Everet (1874), Annie (1876), George (1880), John (1883) and Hilda May (1885) who were all registered under this spelling in the same district.

Died on this date - 17th July......Sapper Frank Bidulph was born at East Bay Neck, near Hobart, Tasmania in 1871. He enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force (A.I.F.) on 18th November, 1915 as a 43 year old, single Miner from Stowport, Burnie, Tasmania.

Sapper Frank Bidulph was posted to Mining Corps, No. 3 Company for recruit training. He was transferred to 2nd Reinforcements on 16th December, 1915.

Sapper Bidulph embarked from Sydney, NSW on 31st March, 1916. He arrived in France on 17th May, 1916.

Sapper Bidulph was sent sick to Hospital in France on 22nd June, 1916 & invalided to England on Hospital Ship Stad Antwerpen on 7th July, 1916.

Sapper Frank Bidulph was reported as dangerously ill with Pleurisy on 15th July, 1916.

Sapper Frank Bidulph died on 17th July, 1916 at War Hospital, Cambridge, England from Acute Pneumonia & Superative Meningitis.

The “Report of a Soldier” – Army form B. 2090 records the place of death as 1st Eastern General Hospital, Cambridge.
Sapper Frank Bidulph was buried in Cambridge City Cemetery, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England where 22 other WW1 Australians are buried.

Biography

"Mr. F. K. Astell, of Stowport, has received news from Cambridge (Eng.) of the death of Mr Frank Bidulph, from pleurisy. Mr. Bidulph who was a native of the Sorell district, and a single man, about 42 years of age, was well-known on the West Coast.
