16 Jul 1918: Honoured Military Medal, For conspicuous gallantry near Albert on 7 April 1918. Dashing out into the open, between two outpost groups, under heavy fire to bring in a wounded man he was forced to return to the cover of his post when an enemy machine gun was turned on him. He repeated this act on four occassions, despited the fire of enemy machine guns and snipers, managing to bring the man to the cover of his post where he was promptly bandaged.
