From Bernadette Scanlon
My great uncle Patrick Scanlon joined up to go to war on 6/2/17, so he could be with his big brother, but never saw him! He was the ninth child, and his mother died not long after his birth. Poor little Paddy spent most of his time overseas in hospital with measles and the flu, then was killed August 23/8/18. He was from Cygnet, and was in the 12th Bn. and is buried in the Heath Cemetery near Harbonnieres, France.
