He was 30 and the son of William and Jane Hindhaugh, of "Reedsdale," St. Helen's, Victoria, Australia.

His brother also fell.

He was Private JOHN WILFRED JACOB HINDHAUGH-Service Number 1906-Died 30/10/1915-Aged 23-24th Bn. Australian Infantry, A.I.F.

He was one of three Hindhaugh brothers who fell. They were sons of William Hindhaugh-died 6 May 1920 and Jane Hindhaugh-died 7 February 1927. They rest in Yambuk Cemetery, Victoria and there are memorials to all three brothers there.
