Jack was the third of ten children of William James Ecclestone (b1854 in Fremantle, WA) and Susan Stinton (b1853 in Fremantle, WA). William (a Farmer in Picton, WA) married in 1877 in Bunbury. They settled in Boyanup (near Bunbury)and raised their family. William was a Farmer.
Jack was a Farmer in Booralaming in Dowerin WA when he enlisted in the AIF in 1916 - in his Attestation Papers he declared Boer War service. Jack served as a Private (Service No:6503) with 16th Infantry Battalion. He was WiA in France in 1917 (GSW to left thigh and arm) and was Discharged in October 1919.
In 1920 Jack married Elizabeth (Lizzie) Molan (b1893 in Guildford, WA) and the couple settled in Booalaming, Dowerin where Jack was a Farmer until he retired in the late 1940s. Jack and Lizzie then lived in Cottesloe where Jack died in 1951 and Lizzie in 1977.
