10 Jan 1920: Honoured Distinguished Conduct Medal, Citation reads: For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty in the attack, on 18 September, 1918, east of Le Verguier. During the advance his pack horse got into difficulties while crossing a barb wire zone, whjch was then being shelled by the enemy. After seeing his crews safely established, he returned to the pack horses and brought them safely to the guns. His action was the means of assuring an adequate supply of ammunition. Husband of Emily Vale nee Pate of Lonsdale Road, Blackpool, England. Reynolds and Emily were married on 14 August 1919 in St. Cuthberts Church, Blackpool, England. Priest E. Lupton officiated.

Commenced return to Australia on 18 December 1919 aboard HT Konigon Luise disembarking on 7 February 1920 at Sydney for onward travel to Brisbane
