Biography contributed by Faithe Jones

Son of Robert and Emily Cleaver, of "Gordonvale," Traralgon, Victoria, Australia.

OUR LOVED ONLY SON & BROTHER FAITHFUL UNTO DEATH

CLEAVER.—In ever loving memory of my dearly beloved nephew, Gordon Herbert Cleaver, who was killed in action, in France, on the 21st August, 1916, aged 21 years 5 weeks.
God knows how much we miss him,
He counts the tears we shed,
He whispers, hush! he only sleeps;
Your loved one is not dead.
He is always in my thoughts
'Tis sweet to speak his name,
In life I loved him dearly,
In death I do the same.
—(Inserted by his sorrowing Aunt H. Morley, Traralgon.)
