Biography

"THE LATE CORPORAL L. C. TRENORDEN.

Mr. and Mrs. Trenorden, of Summertown, have been informed that their son, Corporal Leonard C. Trenorden was killed in action in France. He enlisted from Western Australia in April, 1915, and served on Gallipoli without any injury. Then he, was sent on to France. After serving in the trenches for some time he was promoted to corporal, and presented with the military medal by General Birdwood. He was born in Summertown 25 years ago, and left for Western Australia about 5 years ago. Much sympathy is felt for the parents by the residents." - from the Adelaide Chronicle 09 Dec 1916 (nla.gov.au)
