Son of Willaim Rainne and Elsie Morrison Wilson of Roma. Brother of 3366 Sapper Alexander Wilson - 6th Field Company Engineers killed in action Pozieres, Somme Sector, France 27th July 1916 (1892) and 5931 Private John Wilson - 3rd Machine Gun Battalion returned to Australia 24th March 1919 (1890)
On 18th March 1919 granted leave till 17th June 1919 with pay only to farm at Pynsents Farm, Reading, owned by Alexander Walker Reid.
On 1st August 1919 married Anges Reid at St Michael's Church Tylehurst by Rector H.R. Cooper-Smith.
