Captain Frederick Wilmot was a drummer in the Ballarat and District Caledonian Pipe Band.

Frederick enlisted on 25th August 1914. He was at the landing at Gallipoli, and was wounded on four separate occasions. He died of wounds incurred during the fighting around Villers-Bretonneux on 25th April 1918 and is buried in St. Pierre Cemetery, Amiens, France.

Frederick was 29 years old and left behind a widow and only child.
