Philip Fraher served in the 1st Victorian Mounted Infantry during the Boer War. He went missing on the 28 April 1915 and was eventually confirmed as killed in action on that date by a Court of Enquiry held 6 April 1916. He was 39 years of age. His brother 4490 Pte. Edward Fraher 14th Battalion AIF was killed in action at Bullecourt 11 April, 1917, age 34.
