Thomas McEwan served at Gallipoli from September 1915 until he was evacuated with trench feet and frostbite during December 1915. He was transferred to the 59th Battalion during April 1916. He lost his life in unknown circumstances during the tragic attack made at Fromelles.
Thomas Michael McEwan’s younger brother 2643 Alfred John McEwan 60th Battalion was also killed in action on the 19 July 1916. Thomas was only 22 years of age himself. Their parents were both deceased. Thomas have his home town as Seaton, Gippsland, Victoria.
