Victor Gilchrist NANKIVILLE was born in Mittagong, New South Wales in 1894
His parents were Henry NANKIVILLE and Mabel Jane Fielding STRINGER who married in Bowral in 1893
He had previously served for 3 years with the 42nd Infantry, B, Company before he enlisted in Dubbo on 13th August, 1915 & embarked with the 2nd Divisional Ammunition Column, 2nd reinforcements on the ship HMAT Berrima from Sydney on 17th December, 1915
Victor was wounded in action on 2nd June, 1917 & died from these wounds on 5th June, 1917 at the 14th General Hospital in Boulogne, France
He is buried in Wimereux Communal Cemetery, Plot II, Row L, Grave 14 and his name is memorialised on the Australian War Memorial

His cousin, Frederick Oscar KELLOWAY (SN 3552) also died of wounds in France in 1916
