Albert Hallett was only taken on strength of the 8th Battalion at Gallipoli, 26 May 1915. He was wounded in action on the same day, and died of wounds (gun shot wound, right shoulder) aboard the Hospital Ship 'Dunluce Castle', 29 May 1915. He was buried at sea by a chaplain between Anzac and Alexandria. His widowed mother Emma Hallett was sent his medals.
