From Sue Guinan - Tasmania – The Great War 1914-1918
Born 11th July 1884 Native Corners the son of Victor George and Emma McKenzie (nee Reason) a 30 year old labourer he embarked with the 12th Battalion later transferring to the 51st. He died 8th April 1917 from a shell wound to the abdomen. He is commemorated in the Pozieres British Cemetery (Plot II, Row J, Grave No. 22), Ovillers-La-Boisselle, France.
