"The Late Mr. F. W. S. Bateman.

The funeral took place in the Congregational cemetery, Fremantle, yesterday afternoon of the late Mr. Francis William Silas Bateman, of 41 Norfolk-street, South Perth, the service being conducted by the Rev. A. Clifford Jones. Born in Fremantle, the late Mr. Bateman had spent the whole of his life in Western Australia. He was the eldest son of the late Captain Frank and Mrs. Annie Bateman. He is survived by a widow, four sons and a daughter. The chief mourners were Messrs. Vivian and Clarence Bateman (sons), Mervyn and Bert Bateman (brothers). The pall-bearers were Messrs. A. G. Leslie. V. Wilson. E. T. Fuller. A. G. Pearse. E. W. Davies and H. Gates. Amongst the many present were Messrs. J. W. Bateman. G. Bateman. R. Bateman. W. S. Bateman. G. Halliday. R. Young. G. M. Williams. G. E. Pearse. C. H. Nicholas. K. Pearse. W. Fuller, P. Chester, L. Gates. R. Wrightson. M. Wrightson. Mesdames M. Wrightson. Gates and many others. A number of beautiful wreaths and floral tributes were placed on the graveside and the bereaved family have received wide spread expressions of sympathy. The funeral directors were Messrs. Donald J.
