Edgar Skow served on Gallipoli for almost 4 months and survived unscathed. He was wounded in action at Pozieres on 27 July 1916, terrible shell wounds to his leg, and died two days later in the 1st Australian Field Ambulance.
His younger brother, 2047 Spr. Ernest Sydney Skow 1st Field Company Australian Engineers, was killed in action seven months later on 25 February 1917, aged 21.
They were the sons of Louis and Edith Louisa Skow of Enfield, NSW.
