Alexander Faerber was the son of Johann (John) and Margaret Cant Faerber of Rockdale, New South Wales. His father, Johann or John, had been born in Bavaria, Germany and come out to Australia in 1877. Johann had passed away during 1912.
His older brother, 29077 Gunner Augustus William Faerber 2nd Field Artillery Brigade had been killed in action only one month before, on 25 June 1917, aged 31.
Mrs. received a pension of two pounds per fortnight for each of lost sons.
