Son of Albert Arthur Higgs and Margaret Emma Higgs of Ina Terrace, Edgecliff, NSW. Brother of Hubert William Higgs MM who returned to Australia having served with the 6th Battalion and Albert Arthur Higgs who returned to Australia having served with 6th Battalion

Commenced return to Australia on 18 January 1919 aboard HT Margha disembarking on 5 March 1919 at Melbourne for onward travel to Sydney
