22 Oct 1916: Honoured Distinguished Conduct Medal, Mouquet Farm, for conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. He assumed command of the bearer section, clearing ground of wounded 1,000 yards in front of the regimental aid post. He displayed great courage and devotion to duty throughout.'
