L Cpl 3319 George Wicks was wounded at Dickebusch, Belgium (Bomb wounds to abdomen) as a result of a direct hit by a bomb dropped during a German air attack on 4th Div HQ billets situated there.

He was evacuated to 3rd Aust Field Ambulance, also situated near Dickebusch, where he died of his wounds the next day 29 September 1917.
