Son of Henry Cleave Vincent and Sarah Vincent nee Shiels of Glen Innes, NSW.

Brother of Cecil Herbert Vincent who returned to Australia on 4 September1919 having served with the 53rd Battalion; Stuart Ormonde Vincent who returned to Australia on 7 September 1919 having served with the 2rd Field Company Engineers

Commenced return to Australia on 28 March 1919 aboard HT City of Poona disembarking on 14 May 1919 at Melbourne for onward travel to Brisbane.
