Percival Nelson Cossart also served in WW1, Private S.N. 4756, 9th Infantry Battalion AIF.

When Percy (Percival) Nelson Cossart enlisted in 1901 and his details were published with the rank and file in The Queenslander, 13 Apr 1901, he noted his N.O.K. as his mother Mrs. A. Cossart, New Farm. He was born Percival Nelson Cossart on 10 Feb 1882 at Toowoomba, a son to Joseph Cossart and Annie Cossart (nee Bidgood). He married Elizabeth Robb on 3 Sep 1912 at Gatton and they resided at Oakey.

Biographical information (from 'Queenslanders who fought in the Great War'): COSSART, Percival Nelson. No. 4756, 49th Battalion.

Born at Pipe Clay Creek, via Toowoomba, and educated at Boonah. He is the son of the late Joseph Cossart and Annie Cossart, of Charles Street, Auchenflower, Brisbane. On 3rd September, 1912, Pte. Cossart married Elizabeth Robb, daughter of the late James Scott Watson Robb and Annie Margaret Robb, of Oakey.

Enlisted 24th August, 1915, and embarked 28th February,1916, for England. Completed training, and was despatched to France. Was in all the main battles in France with the 49th Battalion, including Ypres, twice at Bullecourt, Messines, Hill 60, Fleurs, Passchendaele, Plug Street. Was wounded April 5th, 1918, at Dernacourt. Rejoined battalion and was with it till after the Armistice. Returned to Australia, arriving in Brisbane August Bth,1919.

He also served in the S. African war with 6th Q. 1.B.
