Son of Elizabeth Young (formerly Lucas), of Rokewood Junction, Victoria, and the late Charles Seymour Lucas.
Mrs Lucas of Johnson street, Ballarat was officially notified by the Defence Department yesterday that her eldest son Lance H S Lucas had been wounded in France and that he has been missing since 19th July. L-Sergt Lucas enlisted at Ballarat in July last year and left on 23rd November last for Egypt. After spending some time in the desert in Egypt he was transferred to France as a member of the 59th Battalion. He is in his 22nd year.
