Supply Assistant Gordon Stuart Walsh, 18. elder son of Mr. and Mrs. John Walsh. of Alice street, Plympton, sent his application papers to the navy the day before he was 17. He was called up in May. Although he studied commercial subjects at school he was
always keen to join the navy. He attended Glenelg School and Sacred Heart College. Glenelg. He was a nephew of the late Lce.-Cpl L. C. Weathers. V.C.
