Son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard W. Peters, of Mallala, South Australia.

Telegraphist Maxwell Wesley Peters, 21, who was a member of the crew of HMAS Sydney, was the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. H.W Peters, of Mallala. He joined the navy when he was 18. He has a brother in the RAAP and sister in the VADs.
