Son of Francis William Charles and Hilda May Brooks, of St. Kilda, Victoria, Australia.

Ord. Seaman Donald Leslie Brooks, 19. younger son of Petty Officer and Mrs. F. W. Brooks, of May street, Sandwell, voluntarily trained as a naval  cadet before the outbreak of war. He was a close friend of A.B. Roy Heritage, having been with him at school, and rejoined him aboard the Sydney.  He was born at Birkenhead. His father is aboard a minesweeper. Port Yachtsman
