Biography

Known as "Kemp" Hewett, following enlistment he underwent pilot training in Australia.

By November 1943  he was in Papua New Guinea with No.24 Squadron flying the Vultee Vengenace dive bomber on raids on support of Allied operations on and off the north coast of New Guinea.  He was the subject of a number of official photographs taken at the Squadron's base at Tsili Tsili.
