Biography contributed by David Barlow

Sergeant Randell 407080 in Tomahawk AK427 of 3SQN was killed when his aircraft was shot down three miles south of Damascus after taking off to return to Jenin airfield

He was in a group of nine Tomahawk fighters from 3SQN that escorted Blenheim bombers on a raid, using the Damascus airfield as a refuelling point in each direction.  His unit shot down six Vichy French Martin 167F aircraft on this mission but at the cost of Sergeant Randell
