Biography contributed by Stephen Brooks

George Nash enlisted with his brother Cyril Nash during September 1914. They were the sons of Edwin and Sarah Nash of Bellerive, Hobart, Tasmania.

George served at the Anzac landing with the 12th Battalion and during the August battles he was evacuated to Egypt with shell shock or 'nervous debility'. He was returned to Australia for a change just over a month later.

He embarked Australia again on Anzac Day 1916, and arrived in France during June 1916. He was sent to the 52nd Battalion on the 25 August 1916 and was killed in action at Mouquet Farm one week later. His remains were never found.
