Leading Aircraftman Frederick William Adcock 74274 - 77SQN RAAF Armament Fitter - sustained severe burns when his petrol soaked overalls ignited due to sparks from a gun solenoid starting a fire on Kittyhawk aircraft A29-803 during servicing at Lae, Papua New Guinea
The SQN engineering officer was subsequently court-martialled over this incident.
