Rupert was the son of James and Maria Scott [nee Thompson]. Rupert left
Adelaide on board HMAT A7 Medic on 20 October 1914 bound for Egypt. He
fought at Gallipoli in 1915 where he contracted pythisis / tuberculosis on 7
July 1915 and was admitted to hospital for treatment. Due to the seriousness
of his condition Rupert was returned to Australia on H.S.Euripides on 29
August and discharged as medically unfit on 25 January 1916.
