Corporal Reginald Stanley Burdus 26379 died at Number 15 Casualty Clearing Station having been admitted following an attack by German aircraft on a convoy of 3SQN vehicles which had left Maraua to retire to Martuba
At the western boundaries of Derna four Luftwaffe Messerschmitt Bf110 aircraft strafed the convoy; LAC Albert Frederick Durant 14742 received a flesh wound in the leg, but Service Policeman Corporal Burdus had been seriously wounded
Member is commemorated on Column 246 of the Alamein Memorial in Egypt
