Joint enlistment
Peter Francis Beaton enlisted the same day 24/7/15 as Willliam George Gibbs SERN 3115. Peter was William Georges Gibbs' uncle. (William George Gibbs mother was a sister to Peter). William George Gibbs did not present for embarkation on 26/11/15 and was accordingly AWL. He later re enlisted on 29/12/15 as George Gibbs SERN 14580 (omitting William from his name) and went on to serve in France.
There is no known family history as to why William did not present for embarkation and later re enlisted.
