William Louis PERINONI was born in Grenville, Victoria in 1892

His parents were Gaspare Abbondio (Bondi) PERINONI and Johanna GAIREY who were both from Switzerland & married at Piggoreet Victoria on 30th January, 1872 

William married Alice Eileen O'NEILL in Victoria in 1913 and had two children, William Louis & Mary Rae

He enlisted in Melbourne on 15th July, 1915 and embarked on 11th October, 1915 with the 8th Infantry Battalion, 11th reinforcements from Adelaide on the HMAT Nestor

He was wounded at Pozieres on 26th July, 1916 with gun shot wounds to his shoulder & arm and admitted to the 26th General Hospital in Etaples, France where he died on 7th September, 1916 - he is buried in Etaples Military Cemetery, Plot X, Row C, Grave 4A
