Biography

Pte. W R Court 2/10th Batt. AIF of Railway Terrace Solomontown, aged 22. Son of Mr and Mrs William Robert Court of Solomontown. Educated at Solomontown Public School receiving his QC. Interested in football and cricket. Enlisted in the 2nd AIF in January 1941 and saw service in the Middle East, Tobruk, Libya, Palestine and in the Syrian campaign. Returned to Australia in March 1942 and again took part in active service. Although hit four times by Japanese bombs he escaped serious injury. He died of wounds received in action at Buna on December 26 1942.
