Biography contributed by Heather Hean

Albert was the fourth child , but eldest son of Samuel and Helen Williams (née Cadzow).
He and his 2 brothers Frederick and George enlisted on the same day - 20.12.15 and they had consecutive numbers.
They all trained at the Black Boy Army Camp near Perth.
He was killed on 3rd September 1916 at Torquay Farm in the Battle of Somme.
Frederick was also killed the same day in the same battle, but was presumed missing for 2 years until he was discovered in a trench with his diary still in his pocket.
(as per book Descendants of Cadzow)
