After the outbreak of the Pacific War, 'Eligible Males' were drafted into the Militia at or around their birthday. Many subsequently transferred to the RAAF and 2nd AIF.

18 Feb 1943:	Enlisted Australian Military Forces (WW2) , Private, SX28722, 43 Infantry Battalion AMF, At Adelaide River in the NT. Transferred (which involved being discharged from the Militia before being re-designated as a 2nd AIF soldier as evidence by the 'SX' number and thus able to serve beyond Australia's borders.
