Amos Wilton, also nicknamed ‘MARGHA’, was born in Cornwall, England in 1897, in the year of July. He then migrated to Mile End, City of West Torrens, South Australia. Amos Wilton lived with his mother, Mrs. Mary Jane Wilton, and worked as a boot trader before enlisting in World War 1. Wilton enlisted for the war on the 3rd of August 1915. On the 2nd of December 1915, Wilton embarked on the ship, ‘RMS Malwa’. Amos Wilton contributed to three different battalions during the war. These battalions include the 49th, 50th, and the 51st battalion. During the war, Wilton was badly wounded on the arm and was discharged on the 1st of May 1919 for being medically unfit. After returning to Australia, Amos Wilton died on the 30th of November 1948 and cemetery is located at AIF Cemetery, West Terrace Cemetery, Adelaide, South Australia.
