Biography

"Court of Inquiry held on 11 Apr 1944 found that:-

SX26112 Gnr. Bowen E. W. died as a result of injuries sustained at approx. 1530 hrs on 04 Apr 1944 when a White Scout Car No. 135048, on charge to 13 Aust. Fld. Regt. AIF, and in which he was a passenger, struck a deeply rutted patch and overturned while travelling along a black soil track near Oakey... Gnr. Bowen E. W. was on duty at the time he sustained the said injuries. There was no negligence, misconduct or failure to observe any Act or Regulation..." - FROM HIS SERVICE RECORD P2 (recordsearch.naa.gov.au)
