Son of Mr and Mrs A.C. WALKER of Tasmania.

Husband of Annie WALKER of 4 Fisher Street, Norwood, SA.

Married and residing at 19 Beulah Road, Norwood when he enlisted, Algie was aged 27 years.  Educated at Moonah State School Tasmania he followed all outdoor sports, particularly horse racing.  In civilian life Algie was a wood cutter in Tasmania and came to South Australia to join the 'nigger' gang at Finsbury till the time of his enlistment in March 1941.  Leaving Australia in November 1941, Algie served in the Middle East and Syria.
