Son of Mr and Mrs A.A. BURRIDGE of 337 Halifax Street, Adelaide.  Educated at Gilles Street Public School, Ronald was fond of sport, especially billiards.  In civilian life he worked at Forwood, Bagshaws and Richards Body Works.  Enlisting in July 1940 he left Australia in March 1941 and saw service in Syria and then returned to Australia serving in Queensland.  His father served in the Great War in the 43rd Battalion.
