Rasmus Frederick MEILING was born on 5th May, 1892 in Longreach, Queensland

His parents were James MEILING from Denmark & Margaret SANDERSON from England who married in Queensland on 22nd July, 1891

He served in both WW1 & returned to Australia on the ship Aeneas on 31st October, 1915 where he was discharged as medically unfit on 27th March, 1916 due to nerve damage 

After returning from WW1 he was a patient at Rosemount Military Hospital at Kangaroo Point & on leave when he was attacked in the street by a german national after an argument and sustained stab wounds & was returned to hospital for treatment

He enlisted for WW2 on 4th July, 1940 & was discharged on 9th February, 1944

Rasmus married Isabella Baxter Clunie MALCOLM in Queensland on 25th December, 1917

He died on 20th July 1973 and was cremated at Mt Thompson Memorial Gardens
