Son of Mr and Mrs William George HOLLANDS of 7 Thanet Street, Meldreth Park, Lockleys, SA.  Educated at Norwood and Thebarton Central Schools, he was fond of swimming.  In civlian life, Beverley worked at Wiles Chronium Platers Ltd. and enlisted in July 1940 at the age of 19 years.  He had previously served in the 13th Field Artillery Militia from the age of 18.  He spent five months in the Northern Territory before leaving for overseas.  Taken prisoner of war.
