Private Cyril Ascott Braund enlisted with his brother SX7825 Corporal William Gaylard Braund (/explore/people/12831) with the 2/48th Australian Infantry Battalion. Having joined together they both have consecutive numbers.

'Wounded in Action.

Mrs C. A. Braund, of Port Victoria, has received advice that her husband, Private Cyril A. Braund (AIF), has been wounded in action in Egypt. Private Braund was previously wounded in September, 1941 at Tobruk.' from The Pioneer 31 Jul 1942 (nla.gov.au)

'Wounded in Action.

Mrs C. A. Braund, of Port Victoria, has received advice that her husband, Private Braund, was dangerously wounded in Egypt on October 31. This is the third time Private Braund has been wounded in action.

Advice has also been received that Corporal W. G. Braund was wounded in action in Egypt on October 25th. The Braund brothers, Cyril and Bill, enlisted in June, 1940, and went overseas together in November, 1940.' from The Pioneer 27 Nov 1942 (nla.gov.au)
