War Service/Promotions: Taken on Strength, 22 February 1916, Helipolis, Egypt. Marched in 12th Light Horse, 26 April 1916, Tel-el-Kebir, Egypt. Transferred ex Machine Gun Section to B Squadron, Durdak, 30 May 1916. Admitted to 14 Australian General Hospital, Cairo, Egypt, on 2 October 1916, with varicose veins. Transferred to Montazah, Egypt, then Mustapha, and the 17th General Hospital by 13 November 1916, with neurasthenia. Discharged to Moascar, Egypt, 20 December 1916. Taken on Strength 21 December 1916, and transferred to 4th Light Horse Regiment from 2nd Light Horse, on 24 February 1917. Transferred to12th Light Horse on 12 March 1917. Transferred to 9th Mobile Veterinary Section on 11 July 1917, and Taken on Strength in Rafa, Egypt on 13 July 1917. Admitted to 3 Australian General Hospital, Cairo, Egypt, on 27 November 1918. On the 5 December, he was transferred to Boulac, Abbassia, Egypt. Rejoined unit in the Field, 4 February 1919. Appointed Driver 20 February 1919. Sick to 26th Stationary Hospital on 25 April 1919 with malaria, and reverts to previous rank. Transferred to 14th Australian General Hospital, till 17 May 1919. Invalided back to Australia with malaria and debility.
Fate: Returned to Australia per HT Dunluce Castle, 17 July 1919, at Suez, disembarking 30 August 1919, Australia. He never married.
