At the time of enlistment his residential address was Australian Hotel, Ross Island, Townsville, QLD

Son of Thomas and Sarah Jane Mathieson. Next of kin given as his sister Elizabeth Veitch of 117 Liddell Street, Invercargill, NZ. Also brother of James Mathieson of Auckland, NZ

Medals: 1914-15 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal

Previous military service included with Eastern Province Horse, South Africa and 12 months with the 3rd NSW Imperial Bushmen
