Eldest son of Rev. K.B. and Mrs. Halley, formerly of Geraldton and now residing at West Leederville.
Flight-sergeant John Beverley Halley, of West Leederville, a pilot with 77 Squadron in Korea, has been posted missing, believed killed.
This was announced by RAAF Headquarters to day.
His aircraft was hit by communist ground fire while he was attacking targets.
Flight-sergeant Halley was educated at Geraldton High School. He enlisted in the RAAF early in 1945 as a technical trainee. He re-mustered as a pilot- trainee in 1949 and served with 87 Squadron in Australia, and 38 Squadron in Malaya, before being posted to Korea in October.
It is understood that Flight-Sergeant Halley was married in the Eastern States during last year (1952).
