Son of Leonard Wellington Alexander and Elsie Alexander of 12 McLennan Street, Randwick, NSW.

Studied radio wiring for sixteen months while at Technical School, NSW.

He enjoyed playing sports and competed in cricket, football, hockey, tennis, both ice skating and roller skating, swimming, surfing and billiards

At the time of enlistment he was employed by Dairy Farmers Company, 700 Harris Street, Sydney, NSW
