Son of Walter Frederick Sydney and Violet Gertrude Browne, of Dunbulbalane, Victoria.

A GREAT SON, A BRAVE SOLDIER, NOT A DAY DO WE FORGET YOU.

BROWNE— In loving memory of our dear son and brother, V45805 Pte. Alexander Walter Browne, who died of wounds in New Guinea on July 11th, 1943.

Though far away our dear one lies,
We think of him with love and pride,
With memories of "His Duty Done"
For us he left behind.
For him, sweet rest; for us, sweet memories.
But, Oh, So Sadly Missed
—Inserted by his loving Father, Mother and sister Violet.

"Lest We 'Forget"
Scholars of the Invergordon State School paid their tribute of  love and remembrance to the late Private Alexander Walter Browne when they place a wreath on the school honor roll  and stood in silence on the occasion of the first anniversary of his death. A former pupil of the school, Alex died of wounds in a military hospital New Guinea on July 11 1943.
